About this Opportunity

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Art from the Heart Program Volunteer at The Douglas Center.

Can you color, paint, draw or enjoying helping those that do? You don’t need to be an artist for this opportunity!

We are seeking volunteers to assist with participants in our Art from the Heart program. This volunteer service can be completed between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00 pm on Tuesday of each week. If you are interested in working with adults living with disabilities, we would love to have you join our team as a volunteer for this rewarding experience.

The Douglas Center, a non-profit organization located in Skokie, IL, provides community day services for individuals, ages 18 to 80+, with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. The Douglas Center offers in-house work opportunities as well as job-readiness training, developmental rehabilitation, volunteer opportunities and therapeutic and social groups for adults of all ages.

At The Douglas Center we are devoted to providing the best possible environment for our intellectually/ developmentally disabled participants to engage in social interaction with others, volunteering in the community, outings, therapeutic groups and to increase vocational skills. We need the help of dedicated volunteers who are socially interactive and are dedicated to aiding others to achieve all of these things.
