PEER Services

PEER Services’ mission is to improve the quality of life in local communities by working to eliminate substance abuse. This is best accomplished by educating the community, by preventing substance abuse from developing, by intervening when substance abuse problems do develop, and providing treatment for those teens and adults struggling with drug dependence or addiction.

Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence

ICHV programs include: OnTarget Coalition; Student Voices Contest; Abraham Lincoln Awards; and Speaker’s Bureau on Gun Violence. The ICHV Direct email newsletter, available at no cost to current members, is a quick and effective way to keep our members posted on current gun violence news and events in Illinois and nationwide. Project Linus

Our mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” We also seek to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

The mission of the Winnetka Community House is to enrich the lives of North Shore residents, their families, and friends by providing educational, cultural, social, and recreational opportunities for people of all ages. This privately supported unique facility does not receive tax dollars. Educational, cultural, social, recreational activities for people of all ages on the North Shore.

The Women’s Exchange provides programs in a supportive environment for all women to share ideas and information, to learn, to grow, to build relationships, and to have fun. A non-membership organization open to all women, predominantly women at mid-life.
