Better.net Awards the Volunteer Center Grant for “You Said It” Essay

The Volunteer Center is grateful to receive a Better Grant based on a “You Said It” essay that Executive Director Bridget Lewis submitted to Better Magazine, highlighting the many personal benefits of volunteering your time in service to others.

Better, part of Make It Better Foundation, identifies, supports, and promotes the most impactful nonprofits in their sector, accelerating their efforts to make life, and the world, better. The Volunteer Center is also grateful to Better for their valuable support as a Premiere Community Sponsor — further evidence of their deep commitment to making a difference in our community.

Thanks to All who “Shared Their Bounty” With Those in Need This Thanksgiving

Families, individuals and community groups really made a difference to those in need at Thanksgiving this year.  Clients of the New Trier Food Pantry in Winnetka were treated to baskets of special treats and personal items.  And 180 families from Good News Partners in Rogers Park gratefully received bags filled with groceries to fill their pantries.   We are most thankful for such a generous community!
