The VC is grateful for the hundreds of volunteers who showed up on Saturday, March 16 for one of our most meaningful days of service. Tables filled with family, friends old and new, and community groups who helped assemble 100,440 nutritious meals for starving Nicaraguans, which surpassed our 100,000 goal! This is always a fast paced and fun service project that has become an annual tradition!

The Volunteer Center is grateful to the families, individuals, schools and community groups who donated carloads of nutritious food to the clients of Good News Partners, and a pantry full of fresh produce to the New Trier Township Food Pantry. Thanks also to the families and individuals who helped deliver the food to Good News Partners on Thanksgiving morning. It was a fabulous community effort!
This year Volunteer Center partnered with Creatively Caring to provide baskets of food — and beautiful handmade decorations — to every family who came to Good News Partners for our 2012 Thanksgiving Greet & Feed.
The Volunteer Center (VC) will sponsor its 10th annual Make A Difference Day on Saturday, October 27nd from 9 am-12 pm at the Indian Hill Train Station in Winnetka. This year, representatives from 17 nonprofits will be on hand to collect much-needed items.
An enthusiastic crowd gathered at Michigan Shores Club in April to help the Volunteer Center celebrate volunteerism — and to honor a group of particularly outstanding volunteers who are making an impact on the lives of people in need locally and beyond every day. It was a wonderful celebration that left everyone feeling inspired. Click here for information about our honorees and their different missions.
Donations to The Volunteer Center are tax-deductible.
