SEPTEMBER 11, 2013 DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE 

Honor the heroes of September 11, 2001

Gather your family members, friends and service groups and personally thank your local police and firefighters for their everyday heroism and sacrifice by dropping by with:  cards and letters, purchased baked goods, children’s artwork — or any other expression of gratitude.

No need to RSVP, just visit your fire/police stations and give them your thanks

If you wish, let us know at info@VolunteerCenterHelps.org if you plan to participate with your service group and we’ll contact the press on your behalf.

It was a record-setting day at Kids Against Hunger on March 22nd!

Many thanks to the over 400 volunteers who came to the Winnetka Community House on March 22nd to pack nutritious meals for hungry children in Nicaragua. We packed 110,000 meals in one great day — and packed the 2 millionth meal for the Northern Illinois Region of Kids Against Hunger! “Learn More” to see a video of the event.
