About Argentium Care

The mission of Argentium Care is to support the efforts of older adults to remain in their homes: we make living easier. Over 40 years ago we saw a need, and so began our journey, to support the adults in our communities. We founded a non-profit to focus on delivering the highest level of service and support. We achieve this with our two core programs:
- Argentium Home Care, licensed through the IL. Dept. of Public Health
- Argentium Senior Connections a volunteer friendly visitor program
Argentium Care depends on volunteers to assist with many programs. We offer a variety of opportunities including working in our friendly Evanston office, supporting and/or facilitating workshops, helping to plan or manage events and our premier volunteer program, Senior Connections. Argentium Senior Connections volunteers make a difference in the life of an older adult through weekly visits. Volunteers and their older adult may sit and talk, play cards, go for a walk or even go out to eat or shop. Volunteers come from around the globe and from all lifestyles including college students, families with young children who want to “adopt” a grandparent, working career professionals, empty nesters and retired folk. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with Argentium Care please complete an on-line volunteer application at: //argentiumcare.org/volunteers or call 847.864.7274 for more information on any of our opportunities.

Senior Connections Friendly Visitor- Two Wilmette seniors seeking a visitor
One hour a week can change a senior’s life! Make a difference today!
Argentium Senior Connections, Family Service of Glencoe and New Trier Township have partnered to bring Senior Connections friendly visiting program to Glencoe, Glenview, Wilmette, and Winnetka. We are currently looking for friendly visitors to connect with a socially isolated older adult in their community with a weekly visit. Upcoming training dates, so Inquire today to learn more!
Friendly visitors meet with their new senior friend for one hour, once a week to go for walk, sit and talk, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea together, or even go out to eat or shop.
All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application, attend a volunteer training, provide personal references, and undergo a background check. A complimentary background check is provided. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. College students, professionals, families, and retirees are encouraged to apply. Must be at least 18 years old to visit one-on-one with a senior.
After attending a training, staff will facilitate a match with a compatible senior and personally introduce a volunteer to the senior. This flexible, one hour, once a week volunteer opportunity allows for you to visit when it works best for you and your senior friend. Staff and additional training are available for ongoing support.
If interested in making a new connection with a local senior, please inquire today at 847-869-0682 or visit our website at www.argentiumcare.org to learn more about how to become a volunteer.
