Habitat for Humanity Lake County (HFHLC) is a Christian housing ministry which welcomes all people dedicated to building decent, affordable housing for families in need, while empowering families to help themselves. HFHLC builds partnerships among diverse members of the community which break down the walls that divide and build a sense of community among all people, and seeks to make safe, simple, decent housing for all people a matter of conscience and action.
Using volunteer labor and donations, we build and rehab homes to sell to low-income families who purchase their homes at cost and interest-free.
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore Lake County located at 3545 Grand Ave in Gurnee is a 25,000-square foot retail warehouse where we accept new and gently used building materials, furniture & appliances for resale. Donations to the ReStore are tax deductible, a WIN for our donors. Donations to the ReStore mean less in our landfills, a WIN for the environment. Donations to the ReStore allow individuals a low-cost solution to home maintenance, repair & remodel, a Win for our customers. Proceeds from the donated items go towards building our homes, a WIN for the families and communities we serve!
