About this Opportunity

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for 2022-23 GLASA Falcons Sled Hockey Program.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the GLASA Falcons Sled Hockey Program! Practices are held at Hot Shot Ice Arena on Sundays from 3-5pm.

Just as in ice hockey, sled hockey is played with six players (including a goalie) at a time. Sled hockey follows most of the typical ice hockey rules with the exception some of the equipment. Players propel themselves on their sledge (specially designed sleds that sit on top of two hockey skate blades) by use of spikes on the ends of two three-foot-long sticks, enabling a player to push himself as well as shoot and pass ambidextrously. Rinks and goals are regulation Olympic-size, and games consist of three 15-minute stop-time periods.

Location: Hot Shots Ice Arena (29860 Skokie Hwy, Lake Bluff, IL 60044) 3-5 pm
