Together with Urban Growers Collective, Northwestern Settlement opened our very own vegetable garden this Spring. The garden is located provides our neighbors, scholars, staff, supporters and volunteers the opportunity to plant, nourish, maintain and harvest a variety of seeds/plants during the spring, summer and fall seasons. These vegetables will directly benefit the Settlement’s Food Pantry & Emergency Services program – all fresh produce will be donated to our food pantry and be distributed to our neighbors who utilize it.
There are currently two scheduled “planting days”, however, volunteers will be needed for daily garden maintenance, harvesting and distribution. Friday, April 20, 2018 1:00pm – 5:00pm Thursday, May 24, 2018 1:00pm – 5:00pm
In-kind donations for the following items are welcomed (and needed!): Lawn Mower & wheelbarrows; Plastic Containers; Pots & Garden Decor; Gloves & Gardening Tools; Garden Hoses
Northwestern Settlement’s comprehensive approach to community building provides immediate assistance for short term emergencies, education opportunities, and access to a wide network of additional programs.
