The Douglas Center: Program Support Aide

About this Opportunity

We are seeking volunteers to assist staff members in teaching a variety of skills to adults with disabilities. These may include practicing social skills, time management, money management, cooking, and various work related skills. You will work under the guidance and supervision of a trained staff member. This volunteer service can be completed during the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We have long-term and short-term volunteer options. The Douglas Center, a non-profit organization located in Skokie, IL, provides community day services for individuals, ages 18 to 80+, with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. The Douglas Center offers in-house work opportunities as well as job-readiness training, developmental rehabilitation, volunteer opportunities and therapeutic and social groups for adults of all ages.
