About this Opportunity
We are in need of groups of 4-6 people to prepare and serve food at our Health Outreach Bus stops. Our Health Outreach Bus is out Sunday-Thursday each week, providing medical care, case management, and human connection to those in the neighborhoods we serve. Currently the bus goes to Humboldt Park, Pilsen, South Shore, Back of the Yards, and Uptown.
Meal groups shop for and prepare a meal (can be as simple as sandwiches, chips, and fruit, or as complex as a hot meal) for 75-150, meet the Health Outreach Bus at the designated stop, and serve from a table on the sidewalk for about an hour. This is a great way to get to know those who are experiencing poverty and homelessness while meeting a big need.
This opportunity is great for groups from congregations, corporations, schools, etc.
