Volunteers are needed at the Northfield and Evanston locations to assist seniors apply for entitlement programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Programs and other programs. Volunteers are needed to assist social workers by helping interviewing clients, completing applications and making follow-up phone calls. You should be comfortable using a computer, demonstrate attention to detail, and have good verbal and written communication skills. We ask for a time commitment of approximately ½ day per week.
Because of the COVID outbreak, we are interviewing volunteer candidates for our volunteer roles by phone or on-line only. Please contact cpadovani@nssc.org and we will get the volunteer enrollment process started so that you will be ready to begin your new role with the North Shore Senior Center once our doors re-open.
The mission of North Shore Senior Center is to foster the independence and well-being of older adults, enhance their dignity and self respect, and promote their participation in and contribution toward all aspects of community life.
