About American Red Cross
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
At the American Red Cross of Greater Chicago there are 3,000 active volunteers working day and night throughout northeastern Illinois. Volunteers are 90% of our staff and we would not be able to do the work without them. We would love for you to join our team! Volunteers play a vital role in fulfilling the Red Cross mission: preparedness, prevention, and response to emergencies. No matter your interests, skills or schedule, you can make a significant contribution to your community. Volunteers are needed in all areas of our work from instructing courses, providing office support, assisting with disaster response, etc. All training will be provided. It\'s time to give back and there's no better place to do that then with the American Red Cross.
