Northwestern Settlement’s comprehensive approach to community building provides immediate assistance for short term emergencies, education opportunities, and access to a wide network of additional programs. Each year 40,000 individuals come through our doors. Across all our programs we touch 85 percent of zip codes in Chicago, touching individuals from 2 to 100 years old.
Our programs include: the Food Pantry and Family Services; AmeriCorps Project YES!, providing mentoring at local schools and community volunteer events throughout the year; House In The Wood Camp, a summer camp and year round outdoors education center; Rowe Elementary charter school; Adventure Stage Chicago, an award winning theater for young audiences; Family CARES Center, providing accessibly mental health support to Rowe scholars and families; After School, operating before and after school, and all day during the summer; and Early Childhood Education, a Head Start funded pre-K program for 2-5 year olds.
